Security of your personal information
One of the most important aspects of security is protecting your personal and banking information. Unlike a credit card, you never disclose any personal or banking information to open a Cashless Schools Account.
When you make an online payment using the Parent Center, you authorize us to electronically transfer money from your Parent Account to the school's or merchant's Account. Because your personal and banking information is never disclosed in the first place, it can never be compromised.
Security of your money
When you transfer money into your Cashless School Parent Account, it goes directly from your financial institution to a special "trust" Account at our financial institution.
Money on deposit in this special "trust" Account has important usage restrictions; for example, we cannot borrow against it, we cannot use it as collateral, it is not available for general corporate purposes, etc.
Security of your transactions
Another important aspect of security is the integrity of data transmitted over the Internet.
With Cashless Schools all Parent payment transactions utilize secure socket layer (SSL) technology with 128 bit data encryption behind state-of-the-art commercial "firewalls". In layman's terms, all of this means that transaction data is protected at levels equal to or better than most financial institutions. All data transactions including data exchange (student info, balance, etc.) and reporting are secured through the security certificate noted above. Cashless Schools resides on windows-based servers utilizing the latest in internet security technologies. The servers are protected by firewall technology to deter intrusion.
We maintain the highest levels of data security. No student or account information is made available at any time, unless the account has been verified. Student data will not be used for any purpose other than account authentication unless permission is granted from both parents and the school District.
